Welcome to My Practice

My practice has been dedicated to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in Danville for over 26 years. This is longer than any other plastic surgeon ever. My passion is direct patient care (I perform the consultations, preoperative examinations, surgical and nonsurgical treatments, and postoperative care myself. Patients have direct access to me). This dedication combined with a quality medical education (Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford Medical Center Plastic Surgery Residency and Chief Residency) has allowed me to be selected as J Magazine's Best Cosmetic Surgeon in the East Bay in 2007 and 2008.

Some additional features that distinguish me from many other plastic surgeons:

• Received "2010 Bay Area Top Doctor & Dentist Award" by NBC Bay Area / Doctors Improving Healthcare.

• Certificate of Special Recognition for Community Service Volunteerism from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

• Former Chairman of the Division of Plastic Surgery San Ramon Regional Medical Center.

• Conversant in Spanish.

• Comprehensive program of postoperative care for faster, smoother healing.

• First plastic surgeon in my area to :
Start a multidisciplinary breast care panel.
Perform endoscopic cosmetic surgery.
Use ultrasonic Iiposuctioning.
Use a laser for skin smoothing.

• Dedicated to plastic surgery/multidisciplinary care after massive weight loss (American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons member).

• My patients deserve the safest and most professional surgical environment. Accordingly, I perform all operations in a hospital or surgery center, where the anesthesiologists are board certified with extensive experience in caring for my patients. The nursing staff is expert in before, during and after cosmetic surgery care. to performing surgery. There is an initial consultation, in which my patients' goals and their priorities are discussed. I then provide different surgical and non-surgical options to achieve these goals. Illustrative photographs are also provided, and the expected benefits, limitations, healing course, and costs of each procedure are discussed.

A second preoperative visit is also customary. At that time, a more comprehensive physical examination is performed by me; medications and instructions are provided. I am careful to answer all questions before proceeding with any procedure.

It is very important to provide the most up-to-date, effective, and safest care. I try to stay current without subjecting my patients to fads. I was the first plastic surgeon in my area to perform ultrasonic liposuction and endoscopic cosmetic surgery. I was the founder of the first patient participatory breast disease panel in Contra Costa, and developed innovative forehead lifting and back contouring procedures.

After cosmetic procedures, my patients should look attractive, energetic, and natural. Distorted or expressionless features, overly tight or bleached skin, overly large or small areas of the body do not provide long lasting happiness or increase self-confidence. I like to combine different procedures if desirable, but do not jeopardize safety or a rapid recovery in the interests of extreme changes. able, but do not jeopardize safety or a rapid recovery in the interests of extreme changes.

Dr. Lavey is the only plastic surgeon in the Bay Area performing Erchonia laser-assisted liposuction. He has a wide range of fillers, and is also the only physician in the East Bay using the advanced technology of the Palomar Infrared Fractionated Pulsed Light System for non-surgical skin tightening.
